The creative genius of Alice A. Arana and Oswaldo Arana are combined within the pages of Workbook to accompany Puntos de partida: An Invitation to Spanish, ISBN 9780073325583. This most recent edition follows the effective format of past editions through the inclusion of supplementary application opportunities focused on the vocabulary and structure of the Spanish language. Guided compositions are coupled with open response activities to challenge users to tap into their critical thinking skills. This text also boasts a myriad of other resourceful features including grammar self-checks entitled 'A ver si sabe...' which challenge students to evaluate their comprehension of grammatical structures before completing the 'Punto,' or final assessment. Another helpful feature can be found in the 'Perspectivas culturales' sections which offer focused vocabulary and fact-based activities related to the same feature found in the student textbook. The expertise of both Alice A. Arana and Oswaldo Arana are evident within the pages of Workbook to accompany Puntos de partida: An Invitation to Spanish. Alice Arana holds her M.A.T from Yale University as well as her Certificate of Spanish Studies from the University of Madrid. She currently serves as an instructor in Spanish at Fullerton College. Arana also has experience teaching Spanish at the elementary and high school levels, and has taught methodology at several NDEA summer institutes. Arana is no stranger to the writing arena either, serving as coauthor of the first edition of A-LM Spanish, Reading for Meaning-Spanish, and of several elementary school guides for the teaching of Spanish. The second half of this team, Oswaldo Arana is currently serving as Professor of Spanish, Emeritus, at California State University, Fullerton, where he has taught Spanish American culture and literature. He has also taught at the University of Colorado, the University of Florida (Gainesville), and at several NDEA summer institutes. Arana has had his hand in writing as well by serving as a language consultant for the first edition of A-LM Spanish, and is coauthor of Reading for Meaning-Spanish and of several articles on Spanish American narrative prose.

Since launching the first textbook rental site in 2006, BookRenter has never wavered from our mission to make education more affordable for all students. Every day, we focus on delivering students the best prices, the most flexible options, and the best service on earth. On March 13, 2012 BookRenter.com, Inc. formally changed its name to Rafter, Inc. We are still the same company and the same people, only our corporate name has changed.
