These men were afterward found guilty of criminal conspiracy, and Parnell was received with honors on the floor of Congress. While this is being written Dillon and O'Brian, two fugitives from justice, are holding meetings in the principal cities of the United States, presided over by governors, mayors and other public officials, for the purpose of raising funds to subsidize eightysix Irish members of Parliament, sent for the purpose of breaking up the Union. How would the people of the United States like it if there was an organization in England for the purpose of raising funds to pay members of Congress from the South...
