Sequoia Retail Systems Integrates the BookRenter Platform to Power Textbook Rental for More than 100 College Stores
Sequoia ePOS customers adopt same free platform used by more than 500 college stores, serving more than 6 million students and saving them up to 80% on textbooks.
San Mateo, CA and Mountain View, CA – June 23, 2011 - Sequoia Retail Systems and BookRenter have entered into a partnership to integrate the BookRenter platform to Sequoia’s more than 100 ePOS system users.
Customers using Sequoia’s ePOS system can incorporate BookRenter’s powerful textbook rental platform directly into their online stores, so students can purchase or rent textbooks all from the same site. College stores on the Sequoia ePOS platform can be up and running on BookRenter in plenty of time for back to school through a no cost upgrade to their system.
“This is all about helping our students save money on textbooks,” said Jared Ceja, bookstore manager at Chaffey College, one of the first to adopt the integrated solution. “With BookRenter, our bookstore can offer students more options on textbooks right from our website. This improves our service to students, but also helps increase foot traffic when they come to pick up and return their books”
“More and more college stores are realizing that they can better serve their students through textbook rentals,” said Jim Zaorski, CEO of Sequoia Retail Systems. “It was a natural step for us to integrate BookRenter into our ePOS solution and make it easier for college stores to give their customers competitive choices. By doing so the store is able to retain its position as the place that students go to first when looking for educational content and course materials.”
“We think it’s critical that every student has access to affordable textbook rental through their college store,” said Michael Geller, vice president of marketing at BookRenter. “Not only does it provide the student with tremendous savings on course materials, but it strengthens the relationship between the students and their schools.”
Through the BookRenter platform, Sequoia ePOS stores can offer students flexible and affordable online rental options on millions of textbook titles and increase foot traffic to their physical stores with direct to store delivery and returns. Stores also enhance their relationships with students by saving them up to 80% on their textbook costs.
