Includes 32 tales of a northern paradise told by a long-time lover of the Superior Peninsula of Michigan. Divided by the four distinct seasons of the region, the book is illustrated with 28 color photographs: Little Presque Isle in all seasons, storms on Lake Superior, Autumn color blazing from granite outcrops, fishing at a wilderness waterfall, ice rounds along the lake shore, and 23 black/white photographs and illustrations. Chapters range from excursions in all seasons, admiration for birds and wildflowers, out-of-the-way U.P. places, cautions about the region's future, as well as a nod to several talented residents.
