The expert team of Paul Nelson, Scott Titsworth, and Judy Pearson join forces to provide students with a state-of-the-art resource in their book iSpeak: Public Speaking for Contemporary Life: 2011 Edition, ISBN 9780077309534. This text integrates an inventive visual graphic program with an easy-to-follow presentation of concepts critical to public speaking. The inclusion of relatable examples that portray the critical principles that comprise a healthy democracy-freedom of speech and public speaking, mirror the significant personal, social, and political themes that represent campus communities across the community. An innovative resource tied to this textbook is that of Connect Public Speaking, an interactive Internet –based learning management platform that is boasted to help students earn higher grades as well as save instructors valuable time. The leading genius behind the efforts on iSpeak: Public Speaking for Contemporary Life: 2011 Edition is that of Paul Nelson. He has held various faculty appointments at several colleges and universities including Director of the Honors College at the University of Missouri, Departmental Executive Officer at Iowa State University, Dean of the College of Communication at Ohio University, and Chair of the Political Science Department and Head of the Department of Communication at North Dakota State University. Nelson is also a veteran writer co-authoring many textbooks with his spouse and colleague Judy Pearson. A second contributor on this collaboration is Scott Titsworth. Currently serving as an Associate Professor and Associate Director for Graduate Studies in the School of Communication Studies at Ohio University, he too is a seasoned writer. Titsworth has co-authored four textbooks and is a nationally respected scholar in the field of instructional communication and communication education. The third member of this writing team is that of Judy Pearson, the spouse of Paul Nelson. She is currently serving as Associate Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and Professor of Communication at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. Pearson has co-authored 30 text and trade books and has also served as the President of the Central States Communication Association, the World Communication Association, and the National Communication Association.
Since launching the first textbook rental site in 2006, BookRenter has never wavered from our mission to make education more affordable for all students. Every day, we focus on delivering students the best prices, the most flexible options, and the best service on earth. On March 13, 2012 BookRenter.com, Inc. formally changed its name to Rafter, Inc. We are still the same company and the same people, only our corporate name has changed.
