Ronald Munson received his Ph.D. from Columbia University and was Postdoctoral Fellow in Biology at Harvard University. He currently serves as Professor of the Philosophy of Science and Medicine at the University of Missouri—St. Louis. Munson has also served as Visiting Professor at University of California, San Diego, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, as well as Harvard Medical School. He is a nationally recognized bioethicist serving as a medical ethicist for the National Eye Institute and a consultant for the National Cancer Institute. Munson is a veteran writer as well serving as Associate Editor of the American Journal of Surgery and publishing various books including The Women Who Decided to Die: Challenges and Choices at the Edges of Medicine, Raising the Dead: Organ Transplants, Ethics, and Society, Reasoning in Medicine, Elements of Reasoning, as well as Outcome Uncertain: Cases and Contexts of Bioethics.
