Putting theory into practice, husband-and-wife team Marianne Corey and Gerald Corey together with Dr. Cindy Corey developed a highly effective reference for students majoring in courses such as counseling, human services, and social work. Groups: Process and Practice is thoughtfully designed to teach key theories and present relatable applications, not only focusing on the ‘what's' and ‘why's' of group counseling, but on the ‘how-to's' as well. The book does not only appeal to students, but also to teachers, rehab counselors, family therapists, and even correctional and pastoral counselors. The introductory chapter of Groups: Process and Practice (ISBN 9780495600763) by M.S. Corey, G. Corey, and C. Corey tackle the fundamentals of group work and the different issues surrounding it. It devotes chapters to describing the counselor as a professional and as a person. Ethical and legal issues in group counseling are also discussed, as well as chapters on the development of the group process and how to apply it to various types of groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Co-authors Marianne Corey, Gerald Corey, and Cindy Corey are all licensed specialists in related fields, namely, marriage and family therapy, and psychology. Gerald and Marriane are accomplished group counselors who have conducted group counseling and training workshops in different countries. Dr Gerald Corey is also a recognized professor at the California State University, Fullerton, while Cindy Corey runs a private practice in San Diego. The additions to this edition come from the authors' experiences as counselors, educators, and group leaders.
Since launching the first textbook rental site in 2006, BookRenter has never wavered from our mission to make education more affordable for all students. Every day, we focus on delivering students the best prices, the most flexible options, and the best service on earth. On March 13, 2012 BookRenter.com, Inc. formally changed its name to Rafter, Inc. We are still the same company and the same people, only our corporate name has changed.
