An expert in his field, David Myers presents college and university students with a market-topping resource available for purchase or rental in his textbook Exploring Social Psychology, ISBN 9780078035173. This text investigates the science of social psychology as well as its applications to modern issues and daily living. Boasting a modular approach, thirty-one concise modules are integrated, each short enough to be read in a single setting, to introduce users to significant social events. Critical thinking is channeled while students are asked to consider issues such as 'How does our thinking – both conscious and unconscious – drive our behavior?' 'What leads people sometimes to hurt and sometimes to help one another?' as well as 'What kindles social conflict, and how can we transform closed fists into helping hands?' The genius behind Exploring Social Psychology is that of David Myers. He currently serves as the John Dirk Werkman Professor of Psychology at Michigan's Hope College, where students have voted him "Outstanding Professor." Myers is a highly decorated researcher receiving the Gordon Allport Prize from Division 9 of the American Psychological Association for his work on group polarization. Several of his scientific articles have appeared in more than two-dozen journals, including Science, American Scientist, Psychological Science, and the American Psychologist. He has served his discipline as consulting editor to the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. He has also authored or co-authored ten books including The Pursuit of Happiness and The American Paradox. In addition to his professional work, Myers also devotes time to community work chairing his city's Human Relations Commission, helping found a community action agency which assists impoverished families, and speaking to dozens of collegiate and religious groups.
Since launching the first textbook rental site in 2006, BookRenter has never wavered from our mission to make education more affordable for all students. Every day, we focus on delivering students the best prices, the most flexible options, and the best service on earth. On March 13, 2012 BookRenter.com, Inc. formally changed its name to Rafter, Inc.
