The expert team of John N. Ferdico, Henry F. Fradella, and Christopher D. Totten collaborate to bring students their successful textbook entitled Criminal Procedure for the Criminal Justice Professional, ISBN 9780495095477. With a comprehensive framework of the legal rights, duties, and liabilities of criminal justice professionals, this book utilizes relatable methodology to present criminal procedure to those seeking a career in the criminal justice arena. An array of effective tools are incorporated in this book to enhance a student's learning experience including the citing of current Supreme Court and appellate court rulings to discuss key points while presenting foundational principles, individual rights, as well as an outline of the make-up of the court system. The first part of this successful collaboration is that of John N. Ferdico. He received his doctorate from Northwestern University School of Law and has served as former Assistant Attorney General and Director of Law Enforcement Education for the State of Maine. Ferdico is a seasoned writer as well with several published works including Ferdico's Criminal Law and Justice Dictionary and the Maine Law Enforcement Officer's Manual. He also currently writes and runs a legal publishing company in Bowdoinham, Maine. A second contributor to Criminal Procedure for the Criminal Justice Professional is Henry F. Fradella. Currently serving as Professor and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice, at Long Beach, he holds various degrees including a B.A. of psychology, a Masters in Forensic Science as well as a law degree and doctorate in interdisciplinary justice studies. Before delving in to the educational world, Fradella worked as an autopsy technician in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Washington, D.C., practiced law, and also served in the federal courts as a judicial law clerk. On top of this experience, Fradella has various published works including over sixty articles, reviews, and scholarly commentaries, as well as six books that he has either authored or co-authored. The final teammate in this writing group is that of Christopher D. Totten. With his Masters in Law from Georgetown University, he is also a member of the State Bar of Maryland. Currently Totten serves as an assistant professor of Criminology at The College of New Jersey, where he acts as the faculty advisor for the Law and Society concentration and teaches numerous law courses. He has also published work in such journals as The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology and the Berkeley Journal of International Law.
