Lynn Q. Troyka and Doug Q. Hesse join forces to provide college and university students with a balanced resource in their textbook Simon & Schuster Handbook for Writers (9th Edition), ISBN 9780136028604. This text offers thorough support in the writing arena with wide-ranging coverage of the writing process, grammar, research, as well as the presentation of topics. The authors provide students with practical advice in terms of the writing that they will be producing in their composition course, other classes, and in life beyond the doors of the classroom. The leading expert on this team of writers is that of Lynn Q. Troyka. Currently serving as Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Program in Language and Literature at the City College (CCNY) of the City University of New York (CUNY), she has also taught at Queensborough Community College. Troyka has served as past chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), the Two-Year College Association (TYCA) of the National Council of Teachers (NCTE), the College Section of NCTE, and the Writing Division of the Modern Language Association (MLA). She is a veteran writer herself serving as former editor of the Journal of Basic Writing and has also had her writing and research published in major journals and various scholarly collections. The second contributor to the work on Simon & Schuster Handbook for Writers (9th Edition) is Doug Q. Hesse. Currently serving as Professor of English and Director of Writing at the University of Denver, he has also held several positions at Illinois State University, including Director of the Honors and Writing Programs, and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching. Hesse has served as past chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), past president of the Council of Writing Program Administrators (WPA), and been a member of the executive committee of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). He too is a seasoned writer, authoring over fifty articles and book chapters, in such journals as College Composition and Communication, College English, JAC, Rhetoric Review, and the Journal of Teaching Writing.
Since launching the first textbook rental site in 2006, BookRenter has never wavered from our mission to make education more affordable for all students. Every day, we focus on delivering students the best prices, the most flexible options, and the best service on earth. On March 13, 2012 BookRenter.com, Inc. formally changed its name to Rafter, Inc.
