General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Accounting Principles for Russians is structured course specifically designed for Russians who have a background in Russian Accounting. However, anyone can use this for reference, review, or general knowledge. Most of the International accounting standards are the same or very similar to IAAP. Consequently, individuals who understand GAAP are easily able to grasp international accounting standards. Therefore, this book starts with the theory of GAAP and International Accounting Standards (IAS) and the bookkeeping procedures based on these theories. The book is written in both English and Russian. About the Author: Rochelle Strebel Morris, MAT, MBA, Candidate for Russian Doctorate in finance, has more than 30 years of business experience both in teaching and in practice. For the last 8 years her experience has been living and working in Russia. She has an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the Russian business and its related world of finance, banking, and accounting. From Moscow to Vladivostok, Samara to Magadan, Rochelle has participated in the evolutionary changes taking place in the Russian business culture. She is uniquely qualified to expound on the differences between GAAP and Russian accounting because her time in Russia has been spent as finance director of a major multinational organization and a professor of finance and accounting. More than 200 Russian students have studied with Rochelle, many of them have gone on to extremely important finance and accounting jobs with multinational and major Russian firms.
