This latest edition boasts the inclusion of new coverage of topics such as neuro-criminology, evidence-based criminology, and white-collar and corporate crimes and their connection to the current economic downfall. Leading this team of experts, Freda Adler holds a doctorate degree in sociology. The start to her career in criminal justice originated with a stint as an evaluator of drug and alcohol treatment programs for federal and state governments. Currently Adler serves as a Distinguished Professor of Criminal Justice as well as the Director of the Master of Science Program in Criminology and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of Pennsylvania. On top of her teaching experience, she has served as criminal justice advisor to the United Nations, as well as to federal, state, and foreign governments. Adler has published 13 books as author or coauthor, 9 books as editor or coeditor, and over 90 journal articles. Organization was effectively crafted by Freda Adler, William Laufer, and Gerhard O.
