Larson has craftily organized the concepts of College Algebra across 8 chapters, starting with a 'Prerequisites' section devoted to the review of real numbers and their properties, exponents and radicals, polynomials and special products, factoring polynomials, rational expressions, as well as the rectangular coordinate system and graphs. Chapter 1 takes a look at 'Equations, Inequalities, and Mathematical Modeling' while chapter 2 delves into 'Functions and their Graphs.' Chapter 3 focuses on 'Polynomial Functions' with chapter 4 investigating 'Rational Functions and Conics' and chapter 5 presenting topics surrounding 'Exponential and Logarithmic Functions.' 'Systems of Equations and Inequalities' is the focus of chapter 6 followed by 'Matrices and Determinants' in chapter 7.
